Basic poll
A basic poll lets you ask an open question to Intellivy’s database of over 320,000 real U.S.-based shoppers. An open question means respondents can give any answer, rather than choosing from set answers like “yes” or “no”. Learn how to set up a Basic Poll in our Training Center.
Bias
In plain English, bias means something that makes one particular option appear more positive or negative than the others. In image polls, bias can lead to unreliable results, because respondents are being influenced to give a particular answer rather than being completely honest.
In the infographic below, you can see examples of bias in a poll. Get to know more in our article.
Campaigns
There are 2 main kinds of campaigns within Intellivy: polls and projects.
Poll campaigns are standalone questions to give you quick feedback. We recommend you to use either a Marketplace poll or a Competitive Comparison poll. These polls simulate the Marketplace so you can pit your product against your competitors.
Project campaigns help you achieve a more long-term goal for your product. You follow a process with running sequential polls. Your goal might be to:
Optimize your main image
Optimize your image stack
Validate your idea for a new product
Competitive Comparison poll
A competitive comparison poll is one of the many poll types that Intellivy allows you to run. You can compare three different variations of your product’s images with the images used by your competitors to see which one is most compelling for customers. Go with the one that wins the poll to boost your CTR. You can find detailed instructions in our Training Center
Confidence level
Confidence level means how sure you can be that your poll results are reliable. In other words, if you ran the poll again (with the same number of votes), how likely is it you would see the same winner?
If this block is red, then the difference (at the selected confidence level) is too small compared to the other votes, and it cannot be said with certainty that a new poll will show the same winner.
Demographics
Demographics means the age and gender of customers. . In Intellivy, you can choose who answers your questions, broken down by age and gender.
Dual poll
A dual poll is one of the many poll types that Intellivy allows you to run. You can compare two versions of an object (product, packaging, or image) and find the most successful one.
FAQ
FAQ stands for ‘Frequently Asked Questions.’ This section lists questions that our customers have historically been most eager to find answers to. To search through them, go here.
Framing
When participants from your audience enter the microtest, they are immersed in a simulated shopping environment. It’s like they are genuinely shopping for a product, looking for the one they want to buy.
The products you’re testing look exactly like they would on Amazon (or Walmart, or Google Shopping) search result tiles. This makes the experience feel realistic, so participants are thinking like real-life shoppers. This is called framing.
To make the experience feel completely realistic when creating a poll, you have to specify the exact situation your prospective customer would be in and the question they are going to be asked.
For example, say you want to gauge the likelihood of purchasing an emergency preparedness product.
First, you say, There’s a storm coming, and you found out that a camping lantern might be a solution. Then you frame the group into the position of looking for a camping lantern, Which one of these products would you buy and why?
Image stack
An image stack is a collection of all pictures within your listing that visitors see on your product page. The images are designed to provide more detail about the product’s specifics (for example, your product’s view from different angles, in different color schemes, or its dimensions).
Main image
Part of the product tile, the main image is a picture that appears on the Amazon search engine results page (SERP) once someone enters a keyword to find your product.
It is the first visual they see before clicking on the product itself and reading additional information. Get more info about how to increase your sales using the right main image in our blog.
Marketplace poll
The Marketplace poll aims to compare your product to those of your most relevant competitors. In the Marketplace poll, Intellivy simulates a realistic e-commerce experience to make participants feel like real customers.
This helps to ensure your feedback is as reliable as possible. Based on the results of the Marketplace poll, you can then improve your listing or product.

Microtesting
Micro — small
Micro means making small adjustments to your image, listing, or product that can mean a big difference to your CTR, CVR, and sales.
Intellivy lets you test all these adjustments sequentially to estimate how big each of their impacts will be. Testing sequentially gives you valuable information on what your audience likes most, so you can prioritize the changes with the biggest impact.
Testing — polls
It doesn’t make sense to test your product against another image of the same product. Instead, Rapid Microtesting implements a strategy where you test your product against your most important and relevant competitors. This will give you a clear understanding of how your main image performs compared to your competition. Are you getting the most clicks, or is your competitor?
Polls
Using Intellivy’s database of over 320,000 real U.S.-based shoppers, you can set up polls and get real feedback on your products and listings. The polls can help you discover shopping behavior and get recommendations to improve your Amazon listings. Intellivy offers a variety of polls, including (but not limited to):
Ranking comparison polls
Marketplace polls
Dual comparison polls
Competitive comparison polls
With polls, you can simulate the real marketplace, analyze results against your competition, filter the audience by age and gender, and more. Get quick results in less than 60 minutes, taking notes and managing everything in our intuitive dashboard.
Product tile
The tile of your product is one of the most important elements that determines your CTR. It combines the main image, price, shortened title, average star rating, and the number of ratings. This is what every customer sees in search results.
If you want to improve your CTR, start by optimizing the tile—it’ll change the way shoppers perceive your product.
Product validation
Product validation means checking an idea for a new product will work before you go to market. This helps you avoid investing money into unproven products that might not sell.
Validating listing options is also an excellent way to improve your Amazon listings by experimenting with new product content, images, and pricing. It will help convert more visitors into paying customers by:
Identifying what works best for your consumers
Updating your Amazon product listing appropriately
Gaining insights to help you better interact with your audience
For more details, check out our blog post about the best ways to validate your products.

Ranking
Amazon Product Rank is the ranking position of your product in the organic Amazon search results. Amazon lists items in order of relevance.
Ranking Comparison poll
In this poll, consumers will rank 3 to 5 images, from best to worst. You can use this poll to compare variations of your own images or to compare yours with your competitors. Learn more about this in our Training Center.
Situation outline
When setting up a poll, it is important that you give participants a clear situation outline so that they can understand your question. The goal is for participants to imagine they are real customers in the real situation you want to sell to them.
To make it easier, we’ve created a formula to use when you need to write a situation outline:
Imagine you have a [describe problem], and you found out there was a product like [describe product] that solves your problem. Now you are looking for this product and these are your search results.
SOP’s
SOP stands for standard operating procedure - in other words, instructions. Intellivy gives you clear SOPs in order to undertake specific projects and achieve your goals.
An example of an SOP we provide is a briefing: How to instruct your designer.

Intellivy works with a subscription plan, which can be found here.
You can choose to pay a monthly subscription, which gives you full access to the Intellivy platform. Or you can choose to pay as you go for individual polls.
Our subscription plans give you access to a range of useful tools, including:

A variety of projects and poll types
Support
Support refers to Intellivy’s customer service and support features. As an Intellivy user, you will have access to a dedicated support team whenever you need them. When something goes wrong, they’re on hand to help you.
Support ticket
A support ticket is a request you can make to Intellivy’s customer care team if something needs to be fixed, or simply isn’t working as you expected it to.
Tags
At the stage of filtering the results of a polling campaign, you can set up tags that will allow you to read responses mentioning certain features of a product.
Training Center
Intellivy’s Training Center is where you can find everything you need to know about the platform, with lots of helpful guidance. Inside, you will find educational videos on how to set up various types of polls step by step.
Votes
Votes show how many respondents prefer one product over the other(s) within your polls. Depending on your goals, you may request as many votes as you need. The number of votes your product gets helps you determine how well it would convert in a real-life setting. We advise you to run polls with a minimum of 75 votes to get the best insights.
The costs per vote vary depending on the poll type you choose. It varies between $0,60 - $1,30 per vote.
Wallet
In the Wallet section, you can use your credit/debit card to top up your Intellivy balance and later spend it on purchasing services within the platform. Here, you can also see and download all transactions you’ve made.
Conscious/subconscious framing
When creating a poll, you need to specify the exact situation your prospective customer would be in and the question they are going to be asked. This is called ‘framing,’ which can be either conscious or subconscious.
For an example of conscious framing, imagine you want to gauge the likelihood of purchasing an emergency preparedness product. First, you say, There’s a storm coming, and you found out that a camping lantern might be a solution. Then you frame the group into the position of looking for a camping lantern, Which one of these products would you buy and why?
Subconscious framing means hinting at something without saying it explicitly. In an image stack, that might mean showing your product is easy to interact with y—e.g., in the case of a lantern, you’d want its handle to be facing the customer’s hand for them to imagine grabbing it.
Sequential polling
If a certain option performs poorly, you should set up a sequence of polls in order to find out which parameters are causing the underperformance and incrementally eliminate them.
Through sequential polling, you will be able to understand your customers’ wants and needs more completely. This will allow you to develop products that resonate with your target audience, with a higher success rate when brought to market.
Strategic polling
Strategic polling is a key aspect of go-to-market strategy development in the context of preliminary market research and product launches, as it lets you test out your ideas on real people and adjust strategy hypotheses accordingly.
Product development
Product development is an all-encompassing activity around the item you’re selling, including sourcing, (micro)testing, marketing, accounting, dispute resolution, and more. You can use Intellivy’s polls to develop a product consumers want to buy.
